ABOUT WILLIAM MILLER
A Journey Rooted in MHCC
William “Will” Miller (Blackfeet & Cherokee) is a proud graduate of Mt. Hood Community College and a lifelong advocate for justice, equity, and community-driven change. His leadership journey began right here—as MHCC’s former Student Body President and Director of Diversity—where he fought for student voice and institutional inclusion.
Leadership Through Experience
Today, Will serves as the Executive Director of the NAYA Action Fund and as Government Affairs Manager at the Native American Youth and Family Center. He is also the owner of Miller Strategies Consulting. With over a decade of experience in policy, advocacy, and systems change, Will has helped pass hundreds of laws focused on uplifting underrepresented communities and expanding access to housing, education, and healthcare.
Dedicated to Equity and Access
A Ford Family Foundation Scholar, Will earned his bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in law and politics from Oregon State University. He currently serves on several local and national boards, including the National Urban Indian Family Coalition, Future Generations Collaborative, and as Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Native American Caucus.
Giving Back to Where It Started
Will is running for the Mt. Hood Community College Board of Education, Zone 2, to give back to the institution that helped launch his path. He’s committed to expanding student support, keeping education affordable, and shaping inclusive policies that reflect the diverse communities MHCC serves.
Above all, Will believes in the power of collective action—and in building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, not just today, but for generations to come.
