Student Success & Access

Every student deserves the support they need to succeed—both in and out of the classroom.

  • Expand access to wraparound services like tutoring, mental health care, and food assistance.

  • Champion equity-focused initiatives that uplift first-generation, BIPOC, and non-traditional students.

  • Build clear pathways to careers or four-year universities, ensuring students can thrive beyond MHCC.

  • Advocate for affordable education through strategic budgeting and policy decisions.

Community Engagement & Governance

Leadership should reflect the voices of the people it serves.

  • Ensure transparent communication between the Board, students, faculty, and staff.

  • Create space to amplify student, staff, and community voices in key decisions.

  • Protect and advance MHCC’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

  • Strengthen partnerships with local employers and organizations to align programs with real-world needs.

Student Stability

Success starts with stability. Students can’t learn if they’re worried about basic needs.

  • Increase investment in on-campus support, including health services and resource navigation.

  • Build partnerships to connect students with housing, food, and transportation assistance.

  • Focus policy efforts on removing barriers that prevent students from starting—and completing—their education.
